Guided by Jossua Satinée (Montréal), this improvisation-based workshop explores three points of attention: inner, outer and other.
The workshop begins with a warm-up and body check-in. Participants first bring their attention to the inner body, before expanding into the kinesphere and surrounding space, and then towards the other bodies in the room. Through texture, rhythm, shape-shifting and music, these shifts become tools for generating and researching movement.
From there, the workshop moves into instant composition. Situation-based impulses become starting points for listening to the room, responding to others and sharing space. Individual movement research gradually develops into a collective process, exploring how each person can shape, disrupt and contribute to what is unfolding.
